Taste salmon bratwurst at Good Foods on Saturday

■ Lewis Shuckman, owner of ­Shuckman’s Fish Co. and Smokery in Louisville, has created two products to add to his lineup of smoked fish and caviar: salmon bratwurst and salmon breakfast sausage.
The company has been in business for 94 years, Shuckman said, and his father and grandfather used to make sausage.
“You see chicken sausage and turkey sausage, and salmon sausage has been around for years on the West Coast, Canada and Alaska,” ­Shuckman said. He started playing around with the idea of making his own salmon ­sausage about a year ago and ­introduced it to the ­Louisville market four months ago.
It’s available in Lexington at Good Foods Market and Café, 455 Southland Drive.
Shuckman will be cooking the ­salmon sausages from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Good Foods. Go to Kysmokedfish.com.
