Restaurants and bakeries will help you prepare the holiday feast

Most restaurants in Lexington are closed on Thanksgiving Day, but there are a few places that are open. Some restaurants will cook the turkey, or the entire meal, for you to pick up the day before. Here are places to dine, or pick up take-out.
■ Jean Farris Winery & Bistro, 6825 Old Richmond Road, will serve a three- course dinner from noon to 7  p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Cost is $55 for adults, and $20 for children age 10 and under. Call (859) 263-9463 or go to Jeanfarris.com.

Turkey and fixin’s to go
■ Lexington Farmers’ Market will have locally raised turkey and other ingredients for your Thanksgiving feast. The market is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Cheapside Park. Items include ham, potatoes, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, kale, and spinach. Go to Lexingtonfarmersmarket.com.
■ Bluegrass Baking Company, 3101 Clays Mill Road, has specialty breads for your holiday meals. Included are  cranberry-raisin, pumpkin-walnut, 7-grain breads; challah; fluffy white rolls; egg knots; and apple, pecan, choco-pecan, and pumpkin pies. ■ Smokin’ Hogg BBQ, 464 Wilson Avenue in Versailles, is accepting orders for smoked and deep fried turkey, and other meats. Deadline is Tuesday for orders that can be picked up on Wednesday. Call (859) 351-9701.

 Thanksgiving Eve parties
■ Merrick Inn, 74 Merrick Drive, will be open on Thanksgiving Eve for those who “like to hide from the relatives,” Jennifer Murray said. The Turkey Eve Bash begins at 6 p.m. with guest bartenders  Tommy Gandolfo and Danny “Sweet” Glass. Ladies Night features half priced wine and martinis.  Holiday events and specials
■ First Vineyard Winery, 5800 Sugar Creek Pike in Nicholasville,  is having a  Christmas in the Country Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 30. There will be more than 20 vendors and the winery will introduce its apple pie cider.  A silent auction will benefit the Jessamine County Adult Education Department.
■ Bd’s Mongolian Grill, 2309 Sir Barton Way,  celebrates the holiday season with new menu items and collector’s mugs.
Through Dec. 31, the menu will feature Hunters stew, bacon fried rice, and deep-fried Oreo cookies. Bd’s is selling 25-ounce  Fu Man Brew mug-stache collector’s mugs for $7.99 and when customers bring back their Fu Man Brew mug back to the restaurant, they can have it refilled with a draft beer or soft drink for $4.50.

■ Thai Orchid Café, 1030 South Broadway is celebrating Loi Krathong festival of lights from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday. The event benefits the University of Kentucky College of Design Thailand program.
